Positioned within the context of active ageing, this research investigates the relationship between entrepreneurship and physical and psychological health, and examines whether health outcomes for entrepreneurs vary across different contextual dimensions. To achieve this, a systematic review was conducted including 78 empirical papers from 1993 to 2023 investigating the relationship between entrepreneurship and physical and psychological health. The results indicate a positive relationship between entrepreneurship and good health and implicate high workload and poor work – life balance as key threats to entrepreneurial health. Several methodological limitations of the field are identified, which, along with a dearth of research specifically examining contextual factors, make it challenging to draw definitive conclusions. This research marks the first comprehensive examination of how entrepreneurship and health relate to active ageing, shedding light on known and unknown aspects of this relationship.Show less >
