Show more >If the garment worn by the football manager is sometimes regulated in the French professional clubs of league 1 and league 2, can we somehow say that it translates individual strategies of self-presentation? We propose in this paper to analyse the managers’ outfits by identifying the representations diffused by the specialized press on the subject. Beyond the development of institutional and professional pressure facing the choice of clothing, we show its ‘instrumental function’ and identify ways in which media-friendly managers use their image to exist on a competitive professional market.Show less >
