The distinguishability of the linear systems used to model the switched system is studied. Parity residuals of the linear systems are used to study this property. In this context, a notion of strict residual distinguishability is introduced. The paper develops two mains results: a necessary and sufficient condition for characterizing strict residual distinguishability and an index for quantifying the degree of strict residual distinguishability of the linear systems.Show less >
