Show more >Les témoignages du passé sont très négatifs en ce qui concerne la propreté des espaces publics à l'époque pré-industrielle. Pourtant, les autorités en charge des polices urbaines se préoccupaient beaucoup de la "netteté" des rues. Des règlements de police interdisaient les jets d'ordures, imposaient le balayage et organisaient l'enlèvement des boues et détritus. Le décalage entre la mise en oeuvre de ces mesures de propreté et l'image de la saleté peut s'expliquer par la nature des discours négatifs qui émanent de partisans de réformes et des élites dont la perception de la propreté urbaine est en train de changer au XVIIIe siècle.Show less >
