Show more >The Metropole is seen as a new form of inter-municipal cooperation, which allows uniform modernization and development of territories and territorial administrative units in terms of public transport, infrastructure and climate change, which are clustered around major cities. In a period when the administrative and territorial reorganization of Romania is called into question, with a view to harmonization with the European recommendations, including increased efficiency in the absorption of EU funds available to our country, metropolitan areas are needed as the more prevalent form of inter-communal cooperation. The comparative look at France particularly underlines the imperative nature of a legal framework which regulates the terms of a unitary creation of Romanian cities, but also the responsibilities incumbent on them in relation to each local community level in order to avoid overlapping of competencies, and to identify the sources of their funding.Show less >
