Show more >We present photonics-based continuous wave terahertz systems for applications in sensing and wireless communication. Both systems use waveguide integrated PIN photodiodes as THz sources. For sensing, non-contact layer thickness measurements with an accuracy higher than 0.5 μm were demonstrated. In wireless communication at 300 GHz carrier frequency, data rates of 160 Gbit/s were transmitted over a single channel.Show less >
