She traces how in the historiographies of modern architecture, time and time again, the definition of the modern has been at stake. Not as a marginal issue, but as an intentional project that is often entangled with the personal conditions, positions and trajectories of those writing. In spite of the kaleidoscope of accounts of modern architecture by architecture historians, Patteeuw argues that many divergent conceptualisations of the modern remain uncovered, as the histories of the design practices that generated them remain untold.Show less >
