Lire la suite >INTRODUCTION AND AIM The positive effects of physical activity on health are well known, especially in people with type 2 diabetes (T2D), since it improves insulin acTon and lowers blood glucose. Thanks to current technological advances (CGM), daily glycemic variability can be recorded and the consequences of its variaTon, such as microvascular alterations, be analyzed. Therefore, we aim to investigate the effects of a 4-month physical training program on glycemic excursions and vasoreactivity in adults living with T2D. METHODS Twenty-seven adults with T2D (diabetes duraTon from 4 to 24 years) participated in combined (aerobic and strength) training. Anthropometric parameters, handgrip and flexibility as well as aerobic capacity coupled with a measurement of muscle and cerebral vasoreactivity (NIRS) were measured before, at 2 and 4 months of training. In addition, glycemic excursions (hypo and hyperglycaemia) and variability (CGM), daily physical activity level (accelerometry) and the composition of food ingested were registered throughout a week of daily-life, before and a]er the exercise training. RESULTS The statistical analyses are currently being processed. The results will be shown during the official communication. CONCLUSION We expect to observe an improvement in the glycemic variability of these paTents a]er physical training and a decrease in their time spent in hyperglycemia, particularly in the postprandial periods. Consequently, it might bring beneficial impacts on muscular and cerebral vasoreactivity, since endothelial dysfunction is greatly related to glycaemic variability.Lire moins >
